The first meeting of the Café Français was a success, with fourteen participants, including Professor Alain Levasseur, Professor Hector Linares, Professor Olivier Moréteau and his wife Marie-Antoinette, Research Associate Alexandru-Daniel On, Dr. Matthias Martin visiting from Nancy and eight J.D./D.C.L. students. Conversations went on in French during over one hour, mainly about recent events in French politics (President François Hollande and his mistresses).
The Café Français will reconvene on Friday, January 31, 12 to 1 p.m., in the CCLS Conference Room (W326B). Participants will bring their lunch et le café sera servi. Victoria Whitelaw will talk about her semester experience in Lyon.
