We are pleased to announce that, after a two-year-long hiatus, we will resume our summer school abroad program in Lyon, France this coming summer!
Dates: Sunday, June 12 to Friday, July 22
Basic Scheduling Information: Mandatory Orientation on Sunday, June 12, followed by six weeks of classes from June 13 to July 21, with class days of Monday-Thursday. Final exams on Friday, July 22. All classes meet daily during the six weeks of class.
Scheduling Caveats: Due to travel testing protocols for international flights (as of 2-14-22), students are encouraged to consider scheduling their arrival in Europe at least five days before the first day, June 12, with a plan to explore Lyon or other areas in advance of the program. Students are similarly encouraged to schedule their return flights to the US at least a week before they must report back to any other mandatory event in the US and set aside some additional funds in reserve to cover the contingency of a post-summer-program isolation period before being allowed to board a flight for the US.
Housing and Travel: Students arrange their own airline tickets and housing; some recommendations for general location based the site of the program can be obtained at the next orientation session. In order to manage the risks created by uncertainties surrounding COVID-19, students are encouraged to purchase refundable airfares, to arrange for refundable lease deposits, and to consider purchasing appropriate travel insurance. The Law Center does not insure student travel arrangements. (Note not all private travel insurance would be appropriate in these circumstances; investigate the coverage.)
