In keeping with First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Lets Move” initiative LSU BLSA visited a local grade school at Halloween. Given the fun holiday, we did a Lets Move Monster Mash. BLSA and the Kids danced, exercised, and ate healthy snacks for the last part of the school day. .
LSU BLSA in conjunction with The Federalist Society took action in light of the events surrounding Trayvon Martin’s death. A panel was hosted to discuss racism and the shortfalls of the criminal justice system. Educated Guest speakers from around the country served on the panel in the jam-packed auditorium. Read more…
The Ladies of LSU BLSA participated in a “switcheroo”. In order to support breast cancer awareness, the ladies played in a Powder Puff football game in which the 2ls won and all proceeds from the game were donated to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation.
LSU BLSA shared history with the LSU Law Center student body by placing informational facts and data in the student law library commemorating the 50th anniversary march on Washington. You don’t know where you are going until you know where you have been.
The Angola Prison Book Drive will begin September 24th. LSU BLSA asks that people donate books on the subject of Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, and Conviction Sentencing. All books will be delivered on September 28th.
On Friday September 20th, the LSU Chapter of BLSA visited students at White Hills Elementary to read and encourage scholarship.
